I hosted my “Spring Wishes” last night!

🦋 My takes: It was lovely small group (thanks tube strikes), but in all honesty it’s also much more enjoyable with a smaller group that fits into one table, it’s more communal. last time I had two tables and it felt like 2 different groups to tend to.

🌸 My top: Seeing people write greeting card with intention for themselves, their friends, their sister, their mother, so beautiful !

🤸 My flop: My stapler broke ! I think I did not wrap/pack it well and a piece inside snapped in transport, meaning we couple only assemble two paper butterflies… So that was not so great ! But everyone still was able to write their “spring wishes” and intentions on their butterflies and said they will staple it at home.

💫 Lesson learn: always pack multiple tools ! I had looots of pens, scissors, wrapping papers, cards etc but only one stapler

April so far 🌸

Spring has brought so much inspiration !

I took part in 3 markets and they were all so lovely, I really enjoyed being back behind the stall and seeing everyone !
That being said I won't be back on Markets for a little while as I am taking a few days off in May (for my birthday) and I have some time committed for bespoke stationery & calligraphy orders for weddings in May !
I am fully booked for the time being, (it's just little me so I can't take anymore orders at this stage). I will have availability again in June onwards, I recommend getting in touch asap as I take on bespoke work on a first come first served basis.

Trust the process 🎨

I think the biggest Lesson I learnt from watercolour painting over the years is: patience & trust.
Trust your process, wait for the first wash of paint to dry, wait for the right stage of wetness of paper, do not rush, trust your colour choices, always hold your brush with that trust and confidence.
I feel like the moment you hesistate that's where you're likely to drop your brush, make a smudge, end up with a weird line etc.

I've been painting for years but yet I always have these moments of 'oups did I ruin this painting' or 'I don' t know how to fix this' or not being sure about the colour like with this fig.
I've learnt to embrace these part of the creative process, those messy stages are often when you find new ideas, New techniques. I will probably be worried the day I don't have these thoughts actually because there are the ones that make you progress with your creative skills.

Join me for an evening of meaningful card writing & paper art Workshop.

This is the perfect occasion to get a card for upcoming birthday, write one to someone you love just because, or you may wish to write a card to your future self.

The last part of the evening will be spent making ‘spring wishes”. Hermine will guide you through crafty a paper butterfly out of her beautifully printed wrapping paper and invite you to write an intention, wish or a mantra that you would like to spend your spring time with.

Hi ! I’m Hermine, I am a London based illustrator & print designer. I specialise in watercolour & calligraphy art and create botanical illustrations in a modern botanical style from prints to stationery.

🪻 My background: I've been painting for as long as I could remember or been able hold a pen as a child. I went to applied art school, followed by a BA design in Ensaama Olivier de Serre in Paris, and did my MA design in UAL Central Saint Martins in London. I have worked both as in-house and freelance designer for notables brands like Summerill & Bishop, Gleneagles, Estelle Manor, C.Atherley or Vanessa Bruno. So you might have seen my designs in stores like Liberty or eaten on a plate with illustrations ! That's what I love about doing print licensing.
One of my regular freelance client calls me the "photoshop witch" 🧙 because I can turn anything into a print and best selling product for them.
